BuySingapore capatalise on B2B trade leads at Componex Nepcon in India July 2008.
As the premier trade show for the electronic industry in India for over 15 years, this year’s Componex Nepcon India (CNI) has once again brought key players in the industry together from 15 to 17 July at the Chennai Trade Centre.
Known as the undisputed leader in exhibitions for electronic components and production equipment in the South Asia Region, the Componex Nepcon exhibition is an annual exhibition catering to needs of the electronics market worldwide.
This event is mainly catering to the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) industries’ growing demand and with South Asia home to many MNCs, there is a growing trend towards outsourcing by local as well as global companies.

CNI 2008 witnessed the unveiling of the latest technical know-how in the industry during its three day tenure. New technologies and innovations were on display for the world to adopt. This year’s exhibition focused on a completely new and useful technology Surface Mount Technology (SMT).

SMT Is a method for constructing electronic circuits in which the components (SMC or Surface Mounted Components) are mounted directly onto the surface of printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Another show highlight is the automotive feature pavilion where the automotive industry showcased the latest and demonstrated why big players like Ford and BMW consider Chennai as a good manufacturing location.
Both exhibitors and trade visitors had the opportunity on a B2B platform to forge international trade leads. Visitors came from as far as USA, Italy, Kenya, Nepal, Germany, Japan and Singapore.
According to a post show report, the magnitude of the exhibition this year is bigger and better as compared to the previous year. Highly credible authorities such as Telecom Equipment Manufactures Associations (TEMA), Consumer Electronics and TV Manufactures Association (CETMA) and All India Instruments Manufactures Association (IMDA) were closely associated with CNI 2008.
